Boston, Mass. (Mar.  4, 2026) — GBH, the nation’s leading multiplatform creator for public media, today announced the election of Elizabeth Bennett Carroll, Jeff Rosica, and Laurene Sperling to its Board of Trustees. The appointments bring together a powerhouse of expertise spanning education, media technology, and philanthropy to help guide the Boston-based organization’s evolution.

The new members bring a broad range of professional experience to the GBH Board of Trustees:

Elizabeth Bennett Carroll is the Dean of Academics at The Roxbury Latin School in Boston. Before launching her career in education, she worked for 20 years as an environmental consultant, advising businesses and government agencies on a range of environmental issues. Much of her work focused on climate change, urban land use, and green design. Early in her consulting career, Carroll held positions at the President’s Council on Environmental Quality, Booz·Allen & Hamilton, Eastern Research Group, and Brownfields Recovery Corporation. Then in 2002, she co-founded BlueWave Strategies, where she was a Partner until the practice was sold in 2010. Carroll is a Trustee of The Winsor School and currently serves on the Board of Directors at Acadia Center, a non-profit research and advocacy organization focused on climate change and clean energy. Carroll holds a MEM from Yale and a BA from the University of Virginia.

Jeff Rosica is a seasoned media and technology executive with over 35 years of leadership experience across some of the industry’s most influential brands. Until his retirement in 2024, he served as CEO, President, and Board Member of Avid Technology, where he led the company through significant growth and innovation. Prior to Avid, Rosica held senior executive roles at renowned organizations including Technicolor, Grass Valley, and Philips Electronics, shaping strategy and operations in global markets. Widely recognized as one of the leading experts in the media technology space, he has played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation across the broadcast and media landscape. Rosica’s visionary leadership and deep industry insight have made a lasting impact on the evolution of media production and distribution technologies.

Laurene Sperling is President of The Sperling Family Charitable Foundation. Sperling oversees the investment management of a family office enterprise, which, in addition to growing financial capital, also includes Barah Collective LLC, an impact investing entity, and the Sperling Family Charitable Foundation. She currently brings her experience in public accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, venture capital, and governance to organizations serving several areas of the social sector. Sperling is the immediate past chair of CJP‘s Board of Directors, the immediate past chair of the Duke University Board of Trustees, and is on the board of Social Finance US. She and her husband Scott have four children and ten grandchildren and live in Wayland.
