Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features a plein-air painting by Richard Kattman. The canvas is inspired by elements in nature: the sun’s warm rays, a cool stream in summer, and a beautiful hayfield in autumn.
“I created this to engage the public in conversations about abstraction and the issues around protecting our planet,” Kattman says.
Richard Kattman is an award winning artist, landscape architect, and photographer. He is an avid rare rose gardener and bird enthusiast. He graduated with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design.
