Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features a fiber art piece by Maryellen Cahill. The artwork depicts a view of the Boston skyline with Tobin Bridge. The beads, embroidery, and buttons embellish the piece to give it texture and pattern.
Cahill is a fiber artist, and her studio is located East Boston. She is a member of the Atlantic Works Gallery. With a full-time career in apparel design and development, Cahill’s art is heavily influenced by textiles, stitching, and color.
