Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features artwork by Ivone Lima and captures the raw, kinetic energy and dramatic intensity of a charging bull. Using a deep monochromatic palette, the piece relies on stark, high-contrast lighting to pull the form out of total darkness. Every stroke emphasizes the powerful musculature, the sharp curvature of the horns, and the explosive motion of dust kicking up at the hooves.
“My work focuses on finding the emotional weight within wildlife subjects, using the interplay of extreme light and shadow to create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and monumental,” Lima says.
