Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural artwork by Lisa Reindorf focuses on nature’s positive and regenerative process that defends cities against rising sea levels. This particular scene shows mangroves providing a bolster to rising waters.
“Because Boston is prone to flooding from rising sea levels, it is important to investigate natural solutions as well as built ones,” Reindorf says.
Reindorf is an architect, environmental activist, and artist. She has exhibited her work in many galleries around the world and is a frequent guest lecturer at universities and environmental conferences on how artists and architects can confront climate change.
