Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features art from Deborah Perugi’s exhibit Earth Unknown. She works with oil paint mixed with cold wax medium, building surfaces in layers through addition and removal – scraping back, incising marks, and revealing color beneath.
“The painting lives somewhere between observation and imagination,” Perugi says. “The horizon lines that run through most of this work are not boundaries, but thresholds between earth and sky.”
Perugi is a member of the Copley Society of Art and Galatea Fine Art in Boston. She exhibits her art at Newton Open Studios, Newton Art Association, and Concord Art.
