Today’s mural by Joe Caruso references ancient cultures and contemporary life. His collage painting reflects one’s enduring belief in spiritual forces and the natural world.
Caruso reuses paper, cardboard, and plastic from shipment packaging. Reclaimed materials become a starting point for new and fresh compositions. “This process of transformation and change is a metaphor for the human condition, something we can relate to as we pass through our own life stages,” he says.
Caruso is an interdisciplinary artist from Boston, MA. He works in the areas of painting, found-object sculpture, clay, and printmaking. He likes to integrate art forms such as poetry, storytelling, music, and dance.
