Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural, Broken by Jeff Osmond, is an oil painting that explores the creative obstacles artists experience. The broken brushes represent the inability to create. The brushes are protected by a vine of thorns, preventing them from being used.
In color theory, all colors are derived from the three primary colors: yellow, red, and blue. Only the caps of the tubes of paint remain, blocking the endless possibilities of colors.
Osmond is a painter and works with both oil and acrylic mediums. He presently resides in Provincetown.
