Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.

Today’s mural, Blue in Green by Diane Novetsky, draws viewers into an imagined celestial realm filled with luminous color and rhythmic movement. Through biomorphic forms, chromatic modulation, and concentric rays of light, Novetsky evokes the ancient philosophical idea that the movement of heavenly bodies creates a universal harmony known as the “music of the spheres.”

In this painting, a central orb appears suspended within radiating waves of color – shades of cobalt, cerulean, jade, and lime. Simulating the vibration of light waves, biomorphic bands pulse against a golden background, activating the picture plane through rhythmic repetition.
