Today’s mural features artwork by Abigail Randall, an artist at Brookline’s Gateway Arts. Gateway is an internationally acclaimed studio art center, gallery, and store celebrating more than 50 years of supporting meaningful lives and careers in art for adults with disabilities and nurturing the creative talents of artists with diverse diagnoses, strengths, and needs. Gateway is a program of Vinfen, a nonprofit health and human services organization and a leading provider of community-based services to individuals with mental health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and behavioral health challenges.

On Saturday, March 28, Vinfen hosts its 19th Annual Film Festival at GBH Studios. Each year, Vinfen uses the power of film to raise awareness, foster important dialogue, and fight against the discrimination and stigma so often faced by people with mental health conditions and disabilities. This year’s Film Festival features screenings of feature-length and short films, as well as panel discussions with filmmakers, human services professionals, and individuals with lived experience.
