Today’s mural, Tour de Force by Christiane Corcelle, focuses on discovery and finds meaning through layers, colors, and marks. Corcelle builds her paintings slowly, letting her intuition guide the process.
This piece centers around a strong red form, surrounded by smaller shapes and hand-drawn marks. “These elements come from memories of places I’ve traveled to, colors I notice in nature, and patterns that stay with me from daily life,” Corcelle says. “Nothing is meant to be literal, but each part carries a feeling or trace of a moment.”
Corcelle’s multi-disciplinary practice includes painting, printmaking, collage, and installation. Her studio is located at the Umbrella Arts Center in Concord, MA.
