Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features a vibrant oil painting by Steven Lush. Bursting with bold colors and geometric forms, it captures the rhythm and energy of SOWA, one of Boston’s most dynamic creative neighborhoods.
Anchoring the piece is the silhouette of a tower, inspired by the historic Torre del Mangia of Siena, Italy, tying Boston’s artistic landscape to an Italian heritage of beauty and structure. This interplay between past and present, Europe and America, tradition and experimentation, creates a layered story within the work.
