Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural is a painting titled The Charles by Patricia Busso, inspired by a photo she took from a suspension bridge over the Charles River in Watertown.
The encaustic painting uses pigmented wax that is melted, applied, then melted a second time with a torch on the wood substrate. This process is continued until layers of color, depth, and texture build up.
Busso is an artist specializing in encaustic, oil, and mixed media paintings.
