Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural, When the Sugar Maples Turn to Rainbows by Jim Kociuba, is a painting inspired by the Japanese word Komorebi, which describes the way sunlight filters through the leaves of trees.
“Seeing light flickering through the leaves of a tree always brings me back to a simpler and comforting emotional caress,” Kociuba says. “I want to capture the wonder of New England autumn foliage.”
Kociuba is a New England artist with a focus on nature paintings.
