Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural, Temple of Trees by Carol Abram, is inspired by the artist’s love for nature. This oil painting was created using the palette knife on canvas to replicate the unique and intricate texture of trees.
“I hope the viewer will take a deep breath and find some peace while finding themselves lost among the trees,” Abram says.
Abram graduated from Syracuse University with a B.F.A. and began her lifelong profession as a graphic designer and art director. Her employers and clients included Conde Nast Magazines, Houghton Mifflin Publishing, and Boston Children’s Hospital, among many others.
