Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural is a painting titled Beantown Lights by Heather Buechler. The artwork is inspired by the nor’easters that swept through the city during the pandemic.
“I found myself drawn to the view from my condo window, where the rain and city lights intertwined in a dance of contrasts,” Buechler says. “The nor’easters brought a raw, untamed energy – sheets of rain slashing sideways, wind howling through the streets – but the lights held their ground, casting a warm, defiant glow against the chaos.”
Buechler maintains a studio in Boston’s South End, where she participates in First Friday and SOWA Sunday events and shows her work by appointment.
