Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural is by Jack Giles and inspires younger generations to take action on protecting our waters from the effects of climate change.
“Through this piece, I want to highlight both the beauty and the vulnerability of our oceans,” Giles says. “Even small actions, such as reducing waste, advocating for change, or rethinking how we interact with the environment, can have a lasting impact. The goal is to spark a sense of responsibility and a belief that we all have a role in keeping our waters clean.”
Giles is a mechanical engineering student at the University of Maryland with a love for design and fine art.
