Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features photography by James Collins. His exhibit Patio Life began with exploring the fascinating lifeforms in his own backyard.
“Do ruby-throated hummingbirds prefer nectar from feeders or from flowers?” Collins inquires. “After five seasons of observation, tallying over 11,000 visits, the statistics have been analyzed and the question answered – at least on this patio. If you plant it, they will come.”
Collins is an award-winning Boston graphic designer and product photographer with over 25 years of experience working with large corporations and local small businesses.
