Tomorrow marks the two-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

20 Days in Mariupol, the feature documentary from the GBH's journalism series FRONTLINE, and The Associated Press, has been honored with a 2024 EE BAFTA Film Award in the Best Documentary category. The awards, presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, were presented at a ceremony at The Royal Festival Hall in London.

The film chronicles an AP team of Ukrainian journalists trapped in the besieged city of Mariupol struggle to continue their work documenting atrocities of the Russian invasion. As the only international reporters who remain in the city as Russian forces close in, they capture what become some of the most defining images of the war: dying children, mass graves, the bombing of a maternity hospital, and more.

20 Days in Mariupol is now available to stream online at pbs.org/frontline, in the PBS App, on FRONTLINE’s YouTube channel and on the PBS Documentaries Amazon Prime Channel.

Watch it on television on GBH 44 tonight at 9:30pm.
