GBH Executive Arts Editor Jared Bowen takes us to new South Asian Art galleries at the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM). The installations trace the history of India from its colonial period through its independence in 1947 and the rise of a vibrant movement in modern Indian art. More than 100 paintings, sculptures, photographs and personal correspondence provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of India and its people.
Watch Open Studio with Jared Bowen, tonight at 8:30pm on GBH 2.
