Victor Hugo’s masterpiece Les Misérables comes to television from WGBH's Masterpiece in a six-part adaptation by multi- award-winning screenwriter Andrew Davies. Tonight, Valjean saves an innocent man at enormous personal cost. Again evading justice, he tracks down Fantine’s daughter, Cosette. Pursued by Javert, they need a miracle to escape.
