Today is the 123rd running of the famous Boston Marathon. Nearly 30,000 doughty athletes will follow the course from Hopkinton to Copley Square. Those of us who, in stark contrast, choose to sit and observe, wish them the best and admire their fortitude and endurance!

And today is One Boston Day, the annual tradition established in 2015 based on the desire expressed by many survivors to pass on the kindness, generosity and support they received following the 2013 Boston Marathon tragedy. We honor Boston's resilience, spirit and strength, and are encouraged to perform random acts of kindness and goodwill to give back to our community.
