Cool watermelon, succulent cantaloupe and sweet honeydew greet you on a warm summer day. Botanically speaking, a melon is a kind of berry! Berries are defined as a fleshy fruit without a stone produced from a single flower containing one ovary. This includes grapes, currants, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants and bananas. Of course, these categorical distinctions don’t mean much as we munch our brunch.
