Bob Thompson joined Boston Public Radio on Monday to share his thoughts on one of the latest installments in a cherished genre: the reality dating show.
"Netflix has gotten into this business, with a show called 'Love is Blind' ... where they put a bunch of couples who couldn't see each other in adjacent pods and they could only talk between a wall that blocked vision. And once they got engaged, they could come out and interact like regular bachelors. And then on the 27th, a few days ago, they actually had the weddings — or in some cases not the weddings," said Thompson. "Literally, people were left at the altar."
It may have been Thompson's "worst of the week," but we can't stop talking about it.
Thompson also discussed a new Hulu documentary series about Hillary Clinton's life, and a new Netflix show called "I Am Not Okay With This." He is the founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture and a Trustee Professor of Television and Popular Culture at the Newhouse School of Public communications at Syracuse.
