This time in 2011, the lower level of the Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vt., was under water — literally — damaged beyond belief by the flooding that Tropical Storm Irene brought to the Green Mountain State.
But artists, staff and friends from near and far banded together. They donated money and their blood, sweat and tears to save the theater. Why? Because they wanted to ensure that their community would continue to be the kind of place where new things could happen.
Case in point, the recent world premiere of a brand new musical, based on a local story. It’s called "Pregnancy Pact: The Musical" and it’s been described as “hard-hitting pop-rock musical about the realities of love, responsibility and growing up in America.” We hear from the creative team behind the new work about taking on such a complex topic head on and in song.
