Boston's newest pop-up, Happy Place, aims to bring a splash of brightness to your life, designed to bring out your best smile while you capture the moment on Instagram.
Happy Place, which first opened in Los Angeles in 2017, features kaleidoscopic installations including a large indoor confetti dome, a climbable rainbow and an adult ball pit. The installations act as sets where visitors can snap photos of themselves. People who visit Happy Place focus more on their phones than on the actual experience, playwright Ryan Landry said Friday on Boston Public Radio.
"It's nauseating," said Landry, who is the founder of the Gold Dust Orphans theatrical company. "We are becoming adult babies."
