Bobby Stevenson, a renowned local gospel recording artist, has achieved remarkable success in the Boston music industry. With five Boston Music Awards to his name, including the prestigious Ricky Award, his soulful voice and inspiring lyrics have left an indelible mark on the Boston gospel music scene. Stevenson continues to uplift and inspire listeners with his award-winning talent.

Born and raised a Boston native with classical, opera, R&B and inspirational background, Janeé Evans was inspired by listening to various eras and genres of music. The eras and genres also include Motown, Neosoul, gospel , soft rock, house and many more. Her musical background began in the church and was further motivated through her studies at The Boston Conservatory of music (The Handel and Hayden Society) where she gained exposure to classical and opera music. She began discovering her ability as a songwriter through poetry at age 6. It was at this same age she learned to play piano which ventured her discovery to songwriting. She began recording music in 1999 and worked closely with a funk band as one of the leading ladies (E Water Band). Funk and soul are also elements of her embodiment. Her mentors include: Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Mahalia Jackson, Fred Hammond, Luciano Pavoratti, Missy Elliot, Pharrel Williams, Nina Simone, Janelle Monae, Chrisette Michelle, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, Tribe Called Quest, Jill Scott, Amel Larrieaux and so many more! Her Focus is relaying a story or journey if you will on life, love, laughter, tears and mistakes but no regrets. As a writer she is speaking to you with lyrical wisdom, because she is a survivor of many things and her lyrics portray her journey.

Collaborations include Patti LaBelle, James Taylor The Boston Symphony Orchestra and various local artists in Massachusetts area. She also has freelanced among a few Boston local bands after the E Water Band including The New England Dreamgirls and Nyte Check. She is hoping to work with almost any musician that would like to restore our generations through the music and lyrics. It is also her disposition to bring therapy to those who may relate to the music and heal so they may simply live.

Joseph Borsellino III is a Boston-born producer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. On his principal instrument-- saxophone-- he has entertained audiences along the eastern coast with popular jazz repertoire laced with gospel-oriented improvisations and original music. His compositions have been selected by both Jazz Education Network and the International Society of Jazz Composers and Arrangers for their dynamic expression and cross-cultural sensibilities, drawing from distant corners of the African diaspora.

Miguel Landestoy is a jazz pianist, educator and arts administrator based out of Boston. As a “multi-hyphenate,” he is constantly looking towards the next step on his artistic journey and how he can better serve the artistic community.

Dan Raney is a bassist and songwriter hailing from Mansfield, MA. A multi-instrumentalist, Dan enjoys teaching a variety of instruments. In addition to teaching, he writes his own music and gigs/records with a number of bands in Boston, playing pop and rock among other genres.

David-James is an interdisciplinary creator based in Boston, Ma. With a background in Fine Arts and in music performance, David-James has made an effort to combine mediums and create his own brand: Notan Collective. Within this Brand, the Artist has been able to release projects that showcase his interdisciplinary nature, such as “Mournin” and “Shades.” Both of which shows his abilities in visual arts, as well as his skills in music production, songwriting and performance.
Boston bred artist Pop Off emerged on the scene with his breakout project, "Diamonds in the Rough." With its old school hip hop style production, Pop Off has stamped his place in Boston's rap scene with his raw rap style, use of the city's slang, and mentions of its neighborhood streets.

Come to the GBH Studio at the Boston Public Library to learn about “What is Owed?” — a new podcast from GBH News hosted by reporter Saraya Wintersmith.

"What is Owed?" is a seven-part GBH News podcast that will examine Boston's critical and historic role in the national reparations debate happening across the country and in other parts of the world. The series seeks to understand how reparations might look in Boston, one of America’s oldest cities that still struggles to shake stigmas of its past when it comes to racial equity.

Celebrate the launch of the podcast with the team and enjoy live music by GBH Lounge artist and performer Nadjya Facey-Maccow.

Zahili Gonzalez Zamora is a pianist, composer, bandleader, arranger, and educator. Born in Manzanillo, Cuba, she started playing piano at the age of 6 and graduated from the National School of Music with a performance degree. Her passion for music has taken her to Canada, South East Asia and the United States. Her Afro-Cuban jazz trio, MIXCLA, has headlined at the landmark Scullers Jazz Club in Boston since 2018. She was a recipient of the Live Arts Boston grant in 2018 and is an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music.

Raised with devotion for music, Gregory George Groover Jr is a twenty-seven year old tenor saxophonist and educator from Roxbury, Massachusetts. His love and pursuit of music directed him to the Boston Arts Academy where he graduated in 2011. Currently, Gregory serves as the co-chair of music at his alma mater, the Boston Arts Academy where he provides instruction in Jazz studies to the next generation of artists and scholars. In addition to teaching, Gregory continues to perform regularly with his working bands and is earnestly working towards the release of his second album: the Negro Spiritual Songbook Volume II - “The Message”.

Musician Jonathan Suazo is a Puerto Rican saxophonist, composer, cultural seeder, and educator. His music treads a beautiful line between intensity and delicacy with notable influences from artists such as Kenny Garrett, David Sánchez, Miguel Zenón and John Coltrane. His formal debut album RICANO is OUT NOW on all platforms and The New York Times named it one of the top ten Jazz albums of 2023.

The Hot Water Quartet is a collection of gifted musicians performing fresh compositions in the jazz idiom. First forming as the house band for a long-running public jam session, the HWQ has long held the mission of fostering community in the Boston jazz scene. From the banks of the Charles esplanade to church halls to jazz clubs institutions, the HWQ has performed original jazz across New England. The band is made up of Kohlert Saxophone artist Brett Walberg, pianist Hidemi Akaiwa, bassist James Heazlewood Dale, and drummer Henry Godfrey, all mainstays of the New England jazz scene.
