Making of President: Democracy Put to the Test in Zimbabwe
In POV’s documentary, President, filmmaker Camilla Nielsson takes viewers into the volatile, gritty 2018 Zimbabwean election that pitted the entrenched old guard against the charismatic opposition leader Nelson Chamisa. The film, which airs on August 8 at 9pm on GBH 2, won the 2021 Sundance Award for World Cinema documentary, Excellence Verité Filmmaking, and was shortlisted for an Academy Award for Feature Documentary. POV is America's longest running documentary series. -

Dan Rinaldi learned to cook in his grandmother’s kitchen where Sunday dinners were a childhood staple. A 33-year veteran of the Providence (Rhode Island) Fire Department, Rinaldi enjoys preparing hearty meals for his friends and colleagues. His grandmother’s meat sauce recipe—Sunday gravy with meatballs—is a firehouse favorite. -

“The State of Race” Makes Local Impact
GBH’s The State of Race series, which has examined race and inequality in Massachusetts, is wrapping up its second season with a special show on June 22, “Black Joy.” Host Dan Lothian promises the June event will deliver some delightful surprises.
