On the latest Open Studio With Jared Bowen, we experience a unique audio and visual experience called "Hatched: Breaking through the Silence," at the Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston. “Hatched" is free and open to the public, taking place nightly through February 21, 2021.

Viewers will be able to tune in to the original synchronized soundtrack on their personal devices while watching the illuminations. The work, made possible by collaborations with LuminArtz and projector sponsor Epson, will begin nightly at 5pm and re-start every 20 minutes until 9pm, offering more than 300 opportunities to enjoy the work in the open-air landscape of the historic Hatch Shell Oval Lawn.

Watch: Jared joins Morning Edition with Joe Mathieu to discuss the experience (includes a preview of the display).

Jared will also speak with David Howse, Executive Director of ArtsEmerson, to preview a pair of upcoming shows; Julia and A Brimful of Asha. They will also discuss the theater organization’s recent leadership change and the state of theater.

Wrapping up this episode is filmmaker John Waters' art at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio, and Roy Lichtenstein's "Modern Head" sculptures at Ohio State University.
