Classical pianist Miki Sawada was nominated for "Most Inspiring Pianist" worldwide by Pianote Awards 2024; The Boston Globe included Miki on their list “The classical concerts that made me fall in love with live music again."

As the founder and director of Gather Hear, Miki travels with a piano across the country to perform in community gathering spaces. She goes where classical music is usually not heard or available, with a special focus on rural America, connecting with Americans across socioeconomic and political divides. Through Gather Hear, Miki has given 100 free performances across 7 states and produced three short films.

When not trucking around with her own piano, Miki has been featured at venues such as: Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Helsinki Music Centre, The Arctic Philharmonic (Norway), Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater (NYC), Portland Ovations, and Roulette (Brooklyn).

Miki lives in Boston and is a GU-sponsored athlete currently training for Western States 100-mile Endurance Run in June.
