Poet and Performer

Jackie Wang is a writer who also does music, film, comics, and performance art. She writes from a queer, feminist, and person of color perspective, and on her blog she says of her own writing philosophy: "I often wander outside the work, look off the page, and contextualize the work by writing about my experience of the work. Sometimes cultural criticism merges with memoir and other genres. I try to honor vigorous, honest, and passionate personal engagement rather than cynicism, detachment or cleverness."
