Gregory Rabassa

Gregory Rebassa is a translator of literature. He has translated into English some of the most beloved and best known Latin American literary works, and he is widely regarded as one of the most important translators of 20th century literature. Rabassa, a Distinguished Professor of Hispanic Languages and Literatures at Queens College, in New York City, was awarded the first PEN medal in translation in 1982.
