Over the course of seven hearings, the Jan. 6 select committee has brought key witnesses and revealed crucial details about what happened when the Capitol was breached by rioters supporting former President Donald Trump.

The eighth hearing, which could be the final one, will center on what was happening at the White House as Trump refused to call off the Capitol rioters for a full 187 minutes.

Below are the main takeaways from each day of the hearings:

Day 1
The committee laid out Trump’s actions that led his supporters to believe Joe Biden was not the legitimate winner of the 2020 presidential election, and showed police body camera footage that had not previously been made public. We also heard emotional testimony from Capitol Officer Caroline Edwards about the extent of the day’s chaos and some of Officer Brian Sicknick's final moments.

Day 2
Multiple witnesses debunked Trump's main 2020 election fraud theories, including illegal ballots in suitcases, fraudulent mail-in ballots trucked between states, Dominion voting machines changing Trump votes to Biden votes, and dead people voting in Philadelphia. The committee also laid out how the president and his allies told supporters that donations would go toward fighting the 2020 results, then funneled it to other places.

Day 3
The committee focused on the immense pressure that Trump and others — particularly attorney John Eastman — placed on former Vice President Mike Pence to illegally overturn the 2020 election and the threats to his life from insurrectionists.

Day 4
Several witnesses who were on the receiving end of a pressure campaign from Trump and his allies delivered testimony about the intensity of that pressure and how, in many cases, it upended their lives.

Day 5
The hearing centered on the actions of former Department of Justice attorney Jeffrey Clark, who pedaled conspiracy theories and tried to replace his boss, then-acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen.

Day 6
The committee shared the greatest detail yet about what Trump was doing and saying on the day of the Capitol insurrection. Cassidy Hutchinson, former aide to Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, gave insight into the then-president’s volatility, including a physical fight with the secret service, and his lack of action to prevent violence.

Day 7
We heard directly from one of the rioters, who described how he and fellow extremists were influenced by the then-president’s violent rhetoric and stormed the Capitol.
