President Donald Trump visited Kenosha, Wis., on Tuesday following a week of protests over police brutality, during which he pledged increased funding to local law enforcement but did not meet with Jacob Blake, whose shooting by police initially sparked the demonstrations. During his remarks, Trump also mentioned the shooting death of right-wing protester Aaron Danielson in Portland, Ore., although he had declined Monday to condemn charged Wisconsin shooter Kyle Rittenhouse. To discuss Trump’s attempts to use protests and violence as an Election Day issue, Jim Braude was joined by Ben Jealous, former president of the NAACP, and Rahsaan Hall, director of the ACLU of Massachusetts’ Racial Justice Program.
