On Tuesday, after announcing that he’s self-quarantining after feeling symptoms consistent with COVID-19, Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton discussed his decision with WGBH News.

Moulton said in a statement that last Thursday, he experienced a low-grade fever and chest tightness “to a degree I’ve never felt before” — as well as a sore throat, body aches and unusual fatigue. Moulton, who is a veteran, then contacted the VA to get tested, but was told he couldn't because his symptoms are minor.

Consequently, Moulton says, he’s self-quarantining until at least this Saturday, which would be seven days after his condition began improving. The congressman says his wife has had similar symptoms, but that their 18-month-old daughter has none.
