U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley is pushing a measure to lower the voting age from 18 down to 16 in all federal elections, including the 2020 presidential election. The change comes on the heels of youth activism across the country on issues ranging from gun control to climate change, but some think such a change is unwise.

To discuss, Jim Braude was joined by Massachusetts state Rep. Andy Vargas, a Democrat who is sponsoring a bill to lower the voting age for municipal elections, and Jennifer Braceras, a Republican and a senior fellow with the conservative organization, Independent Women's Forum.
