Gov. Charlie Baker says he will sign a bill to guarantee transgender men and women access to changing areas and bathrooms.

The House is set to vote tomorrow on a bill to include transgender men and women in antidiscrimination laws covering access to public accommodations.

Baker's office announced today that the governor will support the House's version of the bill—which includes guidelines for punishing criminals who abuse the new access rights.

The governor's support takes pressure off Democratic leaders, who would have had to deliver a two-thirds vote to override a veto from Baker.
