Polls close in Boston at 8 p.m. in the city's off-year municipal election, which could reshape the makeup of the City Council.

Along with a few district seats, at stake this election day are the four at-large seats on the Council, which represent all of Boston. Annissa Essaibi George is the lone challenger running against four incumbents: Ayanna Pressley, Michelle Wu, Michael Flaherty and Stephen Murphy.

George says she's spent the day meeting with voters and hasn't been paying much attention to turnout numbers. She voted at her polling place in Dorchester's Polish Triangle this afternoon and says today's election is not just a competition between her and Murphy, who is seen as the most vulnerable.

"I see this as a race for the voters to decide who they think they they should be changing out of the Boston City Council," she said George told WGBH News before voting alongside her husband and their four sons. "I hope that change includes me. I am hopeful that it includes me."

It may not take that many votes to swing the race. As of 3 p.m., the city reported turnout at measly 7.3 percent of eligible voters.
