What should be a sleepy season for Bay State politics has been anything but. Apart from the U.S. Senate race, here in Boston there's a state Senate race underway. Last month, South Boston Democrat Jack Hart left the state Senate to return to the private sector.
State Rep. Linda Dorcena Forry (D-Dorchester) and State Rep. Nick Collins (D-South Boston) have entered the race, as well as South Boston blogger Maureen Dahill. The First Suffolk District includes South Boston and parts of Mattapan and Dorchester.
Rep. Dorcena Forry and Rep. Collins sat down in two separate interviews with Callie Crossley on Boston Public Radio to discuss their candidacy. Hear their interviews below.
