In the days leading up to the election, both campaigns have been pointing to new endorsements. And the latest could go a long way for Elizabeth Warren.
Worcester County and Central Massachusetts generally lean Republican. In 2010, Brown won every community in the county except for the City of Worcester.
But now, Warren has received the endorsement of Worcester mayor Joe Petty. She also received support from five former Worcester mayors including Lt. Gov. Tim Murray. Campaigning in Wellesley on Nov. 2, Warren said the endorsements had her enthused.
Warren is ramping up her voter outreach efforts over the weekend of Nov. 3. The campaign plans to have 20,000 volunteers going door to door. She’s planning stops in rallies with Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Georgia congressman John Lewis. He’s considered a civil rights icon, and his presence on the trail could be significant to the African-American community — an important Democratic constituency.
