Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren's campaign says it raised more than $12 million during the three-month period between July and September.

According to the Federal Election Commission, that would bring the total the campaign has raised to more than $35 million.

Warren is challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown. The Harvard Law School professor raised more than $7 million in September, which the campaign says was its best month to date.

Brown has not yet announced his third-quarter fundraising totals. He had raised about $17 million through June 30.

A full breakdown of Warren's donations isn't yet available, but the campaign says 80 percent of the donations in the July through September period were $50 or less and more than half were $25 or less.
