Donny Bickford, who works at the Coast Guard base in the North End, wore shorts and a t-shirt as he enjoyed his lunch break on a Rose Kennedy Greenway swing. A pile of snow sat a few feet away.
“It’s nice to come out here, sit on the grass, swing in these chairs, or eat your lunch,” he said.
Chris Duff also relaxed in the sunshine near the North Bennet Street School, where he attends.
“I like the change of seasons, but this past winter was a bit much. So I really appreciate these nice days,” he said.
Tina-mari Terrasi sat in a folding chair reading a book on a pier off the Charles River Esplanade. She said she walks the Esplanade almost every day, rain or shine — but this week she was able to relax on the pier, just to enjoy being outdoors.
