Alana Parkes, who lives in Dorchester, was also sledding. Parkes, who is 60, has lived in Boston for most of her life. She remembers the blizzards of both 2015 and 1978.

She recalled a childhood memory of her parents using a sled to haul groceries back home from the store.

“I am almost 61 years old. You’re never to old to go sledding,” Parkes said.
