Tonight we remember the over 10,000 people who have died from the coronavirus in Massachusetts.

First, we heard from Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera about the impact the pandemic has had on his city, particularly on the city's Black and Latino communities. Rivera also spoke about the city's memorial to residents who have died from the virus. He urged people to practice personal responsibility during this time, like wearing a mask, social distancing and not having or attending large gatherings.

Then, GBH News' Marilyn Schairer reported on the locally run "FacesOFCOVID" Twitter account which allows family members to submit photos and stories of loved ones who have died from the virus.

Finally, we ended with Amina Mohammed, Worcester's youth poet laureate and the state's first youth poet laureate. The daughter of immigrants, she talked about the important role poetry plays in her life. She also read us a poem about her parents called, "My Untold Stories." She urged other young adults to take the pandemic seriously and think of others when they go out into their community.
