The week’s news has been full of several Massachusetts-related stories that shock and awe: embattled Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia, indicted on federal fraud charges, was recalled and then re-elected all in the same night due to a five-way race; federal prosecutors in Boston announced charges against more than 33 parents nationwide in the largest school admission scam ever pursued by the Department of Justice, involving eye-popping accusations of bribery and falsified college applications; and former Bay State Gov. Mitt Romney went viral for a bizarre birthday celebration that had Twitter users discussing the proper way to blow out a birthday cake.
