A Boston man has been found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges for kidnapping and fatally stabbing a woman whose body was found in a park almost two years ago.

A jury found Edwin Alemany guilty Monday in the July 2013 killing of 24-year-old Amy Lord. He was convicted of numerous related charges and was acquitted of a charge of assault with intent to rape.

Prosecutors said Lord — a Wilbraham native living in South Boston — was beaten and forced to drive her SUV to several ATMs to withdraw money. She was then forced to drive to a city reservation where she was killed.

Alemany also was charged with assaulting two women before and after Lord's slaying.

Alemany's attorney had said his client should be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
