Gov. Charlie Baker says a Cambridge-based firm has been tapped to conduct an independent fiscal review of Boston's Olympic bid.

Baker joined with House Speaker Robert DeLeo and Senate President Stan Rosenberg on Monday to announce that The Brattle Group, a global consulting firm, will review a proposal by Boston to host the 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The firm will analyze all aspects of financing, infrastructure, economic impacts and any taxpayer responsibilities related to Boston 2024's bid preparation.

Baker said that while hosting the Olympics would be a great opportunity to showcase Massachusetts, having what he called "a robust analysis of this massive undertaking" will help ensure transparency and protections for taxpayers.

The analysis should be finished by mid-August at a cost of no more than $250,000.
