A cameraman from WHDH-TV took the stand Thursday as jurors continued their deliberations in the murder trial of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez.
Judge Susan Garsh called Channel 7’s Robert Cusanelli to testify after a juror reported the cameraman had been spotted following the bus that carries jurors to the undisclosed lot where they park. Cusanelli was questioned by a lawyer for WHDH.
“Did anybody from WHDH instruct you to follow the bus?" the lawyer asked.
"Not specifically, but I knew they felt that was good information to have," he said.
"Did, at any time, you have any intention of interacting with any of the jurors?"
"No, absolutely not."
Garsh banned Cusanelli from the courthouse for the remainder of the Hernandez trial, but did not bar WHDH from covering the case. Hernandez is accused in the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee.
