II. It’s no accident that spring is the season of poetry. And once again this year, poetry will take center stage across the state in celebration of Poetry Month. For Boston’s poet laureate, every month is a time to celebrate poetry. Danielle Legros Georges has been published in a wide variety of publications, including Callaloo, The Boston Globe, and the American Poetry Review. The Lesley College professor’s own collection of poems entitled Maroon was published in 2001. And Legros Georges joined Callie in studio to talk about her new role as an ambassador for poetry for the city of Boston. Listen to their conversation above.
