Boston’s year-long search to find a new leader for the city’s public schools is nearing its close. A final decision is expected on March 3. To open this week’s public interviews of four finalists is the San Francisco Public Schools district’s deputy superintendent of instruction, innovation and social justice, Guadalupe Guerrero. Guerro, a former Boston teacher and principal, will participate in Monday interviews and panel discussions.
10 a.m. - noon. Panel discussion. Bright Family Screening Room, Paramount Center, 559 Washington St., Boston.
1 -3 p.m. Interview with Boston School Committee members. Edward Winter Chambers, Boston Public Schools, 26 Court St., Boston.
4 - 8:30 p.m. Panel discussions with families and teachers. Auditorium, English High School, 144 McBride St., in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston.
Guerrero is scheduled to participate in a panel discussion with reporters on Tuesday, Feb. 24; Internet broadcasts of some panel discussions will be accessible through the website http://bostonpublicschools.org/
The other finalists are Pedro Martinez of Nevada, Dana T. Bedden of Virginia, and Tommy Chang of California. They will follow the same process as Guerro.
